Propylene glycol (1,2-propanediol) has the structural formula C3H8O2 and a molecular weight of 76 Da. It is one of the least toxic of the glycols, and is used as automotive antifreeze, an industrial and pharmaceutical solvent, in cosmetics, and a processed food additive for human and animal consumption.
